Aisling Bea

Aisling is a popular Irish comedian who has been around for a long time. She was born in Kildare, Ireland, on 16th March 1984. Bea has appeared on QI together with Stephen Fry. Aisling Claiodhnadh, also known as Aisling "Bea", is an Irish actor as well as a writer. Her birth date was the 16th of March 1984. Bea's professional career started in 2011, as a stand-up comedian, after appearing in small parts on Irish and British TV shows that began in 2009. Bea began performing frequently on sketch comedy shows and sitcoms later in the year. Following her win at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began to be booked regularly for various panel shows where she was a frequent guest. She was a captain of the 8 Out of 10 Cats team from 2016-2017 and is a regular contestant in its spinoff, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Born to Brian O'Sullivan, she was blessed with one sister called Sinead. She was the winner of the So You think You're Funny Award for the second time. Bea the name she was given as her maiden name, pays tribute to her father who passed away. Aisling Cliodhnadh'Sullivan' was born in Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Bea's father Brian was an equine vet who committed suicide at the age of three when Bea turned three was a victim of self-harm. She was told about his death only at 13 years old. In 2017 she published an article in The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family and took on the stage name Bea in remembrance of him. Bea's mother Helen, who is also a jockey-trainer and former pro jockey was in charge of taking care of her and Sinead. The family was awed by horses, races as well as the race industry. Bea started out as an official guide for tourists at the Irish National Stud. But she soon realized that her passion was for doing and not racing.
