Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working on TV and in films is best known for films such as Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Born as the only daughter to Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra entered showbiz early and landed up performing lead roles in various shows on television by the time she reached the age of 16. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including the role of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge, in the commercially and critically profitable Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films starring this stunning diva. Alexandra was associated with numerous important projects both locally and internationally. Some of these include the British Biographical Film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many others. Additionally, she was part of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
